Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer Review

A couple of months ago, I bought Erase Paste by Benefit to cover up my under eye circles. I actually wrote quite a positive review of it, but one thing that always bothered me about it was the fact that it never really sets, even when I powdered it. The main problem about this is the fact that make up that I wore under my eyes ended up half way down my face by lunchtime. I finally decided that enough was enough - it was time to get a new concealer. I'd heard good things about this, and I'd already been more than impressed by the one other product from Nars that I own (one of their blushes), so I thought I'd give it a go.

The Packaging

This comes in a tube with a doe foot applicator. The applicator makes the product really easy to apply, and saves faffing around looking for a brush. The lid is made out of the typicial Nars rubbery material, so it will get dirty, but if that kind of thing bothers you, you can wipe it clean.

The Product

This concealer is actually a lot thicker than I thought it would be and a little goes a very long way, but it blends really well, and melts into the skin. It's very high coverage stuff, every other concealer I've tried - even Erase Paste - I felt like I had to build up the coverage, but not with this. I got the shade Vanilla, which is a bit lighter than my skin tone, so it illuminates the under eye area really nicely. I've even found that I can use this on my forehead and on my jaw to accentuate contouring, and it looks fab. Lasting time is pretty good. I'd say you'll get about 6 hours of wear until you'll need to top it up, depending on the weather.

The Verdict

I've never said this before, but I think I've found a Holy Grail product. I have never been so happy with a concealer before, there have always been little things that irritated me. I'd forgotten what it was like not to have panda eyes all of the time because my eyeliner kept running. Sort of defeating the object of under eye concealer! If you have any doubts about buying this, seriously...buy it. I love it!

Edit: I've updated the before and after photos, so you get a better idea of how well this works. Excuse the slightly different lighting, the sun went behind a cloud!

    1. My dark circles aren't the worst, I must admit. I hope you can see the illuminating effect though.

  2. I use the very popular collection concealer at the moment but need a more high end product for my wedding later this year. Think I might try nars for concealer and foundation!

    1. I think the collection one and this are very similar. I've used the Collection one, and I think this one is a bit easier to blend :)

  5. This looks great! I've been using the Collection one for years and I don't like it that much but have been too scared to try anything else. As you mentioned it doesn't blend brilliantly and, for me, it's not a great shade match or as pigmented as I would like so I'm definitely looking to get something new. After reading this, Nars is a real front runner!!
    Great post :)

    1. They're pretty similar, this Nars one is easier to blend and it less cakey. The pigmentation on this is very good, a little goes a long way!!
