MAC Coppering Tutorial

I bought Coppering from MAC ages ago, and I've had difficulty finding ways to wear it. It's quite a full on colour, and I always thought that having it all over the lid was a bit much. When I was in Lyon, I went into the MAC store and found Expensive Pink, which is a gorgeous, shimmering, rose gold shade. It wasn't until I got home and put it in my palette, that I realised how similar the two colours were. I had a family get together a few weeks ago, and I was wearing orange, so I thought I'd give pairing these two colours together, along with some others (I also used Quarry and Brulé). Here's what I did......

Clockwise: Quarry, Brulé, Expensive Pink, Coppering

First, I put some Expensive Pink on the inner half of my eyelid, and coppering on the outer half and into the crease as well. Next, I took Quarry, which is a medium grey-brown, into the outer corner of my eye and also into the crease. You could use an even darker matte brown here, but it was a sunny day, so I wanted to keep it light. I kept adding more of Coppering and Quarry until I was happy with the contrast in colours. After that, I blended the colours slightly with a clean brush, and then blended out the edges with Brulé. I took a little bit of Expensive Pink onto an angled brush, and used it underneath the entirety of my lower lash line, before getting a bit of Quarry and placing it under the outer half of my lower lashes. To finish off, I used Blacktrack by MAC to line my eyelid, filled in my brows, and applied some YSL Babydoll Mascara.

The Finished Result

I paired this with Pygmalion Rouge Coco Shine lipstick from Chanel. It was limited edition from their Summer 2013 collection, but I think any sheer coral would work great here. I reckon you could use a nude as well, actually. I think I'm wearing some Coralista from Benefit with Amour from Nars over it on my cheeks here, and I've contoured with the darkest shade from Guerlain Four Seasons Terracotta Brunettes.

I think this look is perfect for the day, but you could take from day to night by smoking it out more with a darker brown in the crease. This would look awesome if you have blue eyes, as the orange tones would contrast with your eye colour and make your eyes pop.

Have you guys done any looks with any of the shades I used today? Let me know!
