Spring Flowers Nail Art

I'm at home at the moment, and I realised the other day that I have tons of nail varnish here that I haven't used in ages. I couldn't decide which colour I wanted to wear, so I decided to do a Spring-themed look that included a few of them.

I started off by using my Hyde Park Base Coat which I wrote about a little bit here. My nails tend to peel, but this has actually helped, so I make sure I apply a couple of coats every week. I then used 3 coats of You Callin' Me A Lyre? from OPI as a base. I picked this colour because I needed something neutral as I'd be using lots of colours for the flowers later, and I didn't want the colours to clash. I didn't realise that it was so sheer, so I needed 3 coats to even out the colour of my nails.

From Left to Right: South Kensington, You Callin Me a Lyre?,  Belgrave Place, Gone Fishing, Shoreditch, Art School,  Solar Flare, Hyde Park Base Coat and Albert Bridge Top Coat

Next, I got my dotting tool from Topshop and I did five little dots to make a flower in each of the colours shown above. Next, I used Nice and Neutral from Topshop as the middle section of the flower, but I felt it wasn't eye-catching enough so I went over it with South Kensington from Nails Inc. I found it a lot harder to do the flowers on my right hand, as my left hand is useless, but I found that going slowly was the best way to avoid mistakes. To finish it off, I went over it with Albert Bridge Top Coat from Nails Inc. to help dry all of those layers of nail varnish quickly and to create a uniform surface.

I was improvising when I did this, and I didn't really have a particular plan, but I quite like how the flowers start off as being quite concentrated at the top, and then they become more sparse towards the bottom. The great thing about this look is that you can use any bright colours that you like to change it up. Have you guys done any Spring-themed looks? Leave me a link in the comments :)
