The Packaging
This is pretty indicative of Benefit's cutesy packaging, with a pretty pink pot and a purple lid. I think this would have been so much more luxurious is the pot was real glass, rather than plastic, but at least it isn't all that heavy, and is therefore easier to transport.
The Product
This is a very thick full coverage concealer, although it's relatively easy to blend out. I use a concealer brush, but you can use your fingers. It takes quite a while to set, so I think it might be better to set this with a translucent powder after application, otherwise I can definitely see this creasing. I find that this really works on dark circles! Mine aren't that bad, but I can see a difference immediately. I've used Touche Eclat by YSL and similar products before, and found that they only really do the job when I've had a good night's sleep, otherwise I'd be standing there for half an hour trying to build up the coverage. Although, I prefer the weightless feel of Touche Eclat and the like, as this can feel quite heavy.
You can see that the Erase Paste has high enough coverage to cover a mole on my hand. I haven't made much of an effort to blend it out here...it's not as cakey as it looks in the photo. |
This has quite a luminous finish, which makes it fabulous for under the eyes. I have used this on blemishes and it actually worked really well, even though it is way more pink than my skin tone. Because I get blemishes on the oily parts of my skin (t-zone and chin), it can get a little patchy thanks to the oil, and it the luminous finish can add to shine on my t-zone.
The Verdict
This feels quite heavy on the skin, so if you don't like thick concealers, this isn't for you. However, if more watery concealers like Touche Eclat aren't enough to cover your dark circles, then you might want to consider this: it works. It's a shame this takes to long to set, as I prefer my products to work on their own, but thank God for translucent powder (!)
It's interesting that it works on spots if it is illuminating/for underneath eyes. Usually anything illuminating seems to draw attention to spots, so that sounds great. x
ReplyDeleteI didn't find that at all! I was surprised too, but I thought it looked fine :)
DeleteI find Boi-ing so much better, Erase Paste is so thick I feel like I'm spreading concrete under my eyes ;)

Haha! That's interesting. I'd like to give Boi-ing a go :)
DeleteI really like the look of this as I love heavy concealers as I get quite bad dark circles under my eyes so I may have to give this a go

You get quite a lot of product for your money as well!
DeleteI definitely agree about sleep being the only thing that really hides those dark circles haha! I love the Touche Eclat but this sounds like a great heavier option xx

Definitely! I don't think I'd need to use this every day, but I have quite a lot of early starts this semester, so it'll be great for those days!
DeleteI love this concealer, it's perfect for covering up my under-eye circles! x
